There's always someone out there who insists on knowing the truth and spoiling the fantasy, and since you clicked on the link to get here, I guess you're that person. So you must want to know why someone would go through all the time and trouble to create a "Bunny Travelogue" instead of doing something constructive, like vegetating in front of the TV or playing computer games.

Well, you asked for it, buster (or busterette), and now you're going to get it!

My name is Tim Tyson, and I created this site just because it seemed like a cool idea. The inspiration (if you can call it that) came from my brother Ken Tyson, who is the OBC referred to in various pages within this site.

Ken is a computer-type geek (as are we all, since you're on the web viewing this) whose last steady job was for a contractor in the Washington, DC area several years ago. Then he got a job working for the US government in the Netherlands for awhile, got the chance to travel a lot as kind of a troubleshooter to various places in Europe and the Middle East, and decided he liked it so much that when his contract expired he started traveling most of the time. His plan, as he explained it to me, was to work approximately three to four months a year and travel the rest of the time. Various independent contracts with the government have allowed him to fulfill what for most of us is an unattainable fantasy.

Since he started traveling as the OBC (Official Bunny Companion, for those not paying attention), he has visited all the spots in these pages and more. I only kept the best pictures to put on these pages. He's got approximately a hundred (I think) and has plans to get over four hundred in the next few years at very specific spots all over the world on a detailed list.

Satisfied now? Oh, yeah, the bunny......

Thumper was given to Ken by his son as a companion for his travels, and I have been vastly entertained by Ken's tales of what happened in various places with the rabbit. Apparently Ken's son Simon gave his father a list of places where he wanted "proof" that his dad had visited, so Ken started taking pictures of Thumper at spots in that four hundred long list mentioned earlier. He fully intends to visit all those places eventually, from the exotic (such as Victoria falls) to the mundane (the White House), and take Thumper's picture at every single one.

No, I'm not making this up. Gimme a break! He's the crazy one, not me. I just saw all his pictures and felt that some of you out there would be as amused as I was by the entire concept, not to mention the chance to see photographs of a wide variety of travel destinations around the globe..... with a stuffed bunny included.

You've got to admit this is an original concept, if nothing else. A little wacky, perhaps, but we Tysons are known for (and proud of) our eccentricities. I just wanted to prove to my friends that my brother is even stranger than I am.....

Okay, explanations over. I hope you're satisfied. One day, when Ken gets around to reading this (he checks the web when he's actually working and in various cyber-cafes all over the globe), I'm sure there will be some corrections. Until then, you'll just have to enjoy the pictures and shake your head at the utter improbability (but ingenuity!) of such a bizarre website.

Hope you like it.

Sincerely,

Tim and Ken Tyson
