Here we are in Gondar, the ancient capital of Ethiopia. This picture is taken in one of the Fasildas Castles (keep reading....). It's a big complex.

This is the Castle of Fasiledes, one of many impressive buildings and ruins here, built by the Ethiopian Emperor who ruled from 1632-1667. Upon his ascension to the throne, he closed his kingdom to all Europeans, plunging Ethiopia into an era of isolation.

Lake Tana and Gonder - This is part of a site made by a Dutch national who traveled through Ethiopia in 1995. Lots of nice pictures.
