Okay, so I lied (about the title of this page, that is). This was taken near the Olduvai Gorge, though, with some Masai warriors who were just fascinated by yours truly. It is the only picture in these pages, by the way, which actually shows the OBC (the guy in the white t-shirt). For a human, he's not too bad, although he should learn to listen to rabbits more, who are, after all, a superior form of life.
The Masai are a famous warrior tribe, long known for their rite of passage into manhood: killing a lion by yourself with only a spear. Good thing they respect rabbits!
Olduvai Gorge, by the way, is where Dr. Leakey, the famous anthropologist, found the earliest recorded human bones. Here is a picture of the gorge itself.
Archaeological Sites - Here they discuss the various digs concerning early man in Africa, including Olduvai Gorge. It's a little heavy, but quite informative.
The Maasai - Here is a page about the Masai tribe (Maasai.... whatever). It is part of a larger (and very interesting) website talking about the Masai Mara National Park. You can start at the main entrance by clicking HERE.
NOTE: Clicking on "Next Page" will take you back to Africa. Next stop? Zimbabwe/Zambia!
