Petra is without a doubt one of the most fascinating places in the Middle East, in my not-so-humble opinion. It is a city literally carved out of the rock, and has been used as a backdrop for several movies.

Look familiar? This is probably the most famous shot of Petra, showing that awesome rose-colored limestone, and a view made famous by the movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". For you older folks, it was also used in "The Seven Voyages of Sinbad".

Here is the ampitheater, although it's not a very good picture..... except of me, which is far more important than some pile of rocks anyway.
